Default Christmas......Bah Humbug!

This is how I'm spending my Christmas:

Today I'm off to the hardware store this morning to buy supplies to repair several household failures. Have to make sure to get enough of everything and everything I need because nothing will be open tomorrow when I hope to do all the repairs. Everything must be completed on Christmas day because it's the only day I have off from both jobs.

Then it's down to the restaurant to repair a leaky faucet, clogged steamer drain and paperwork. Hopefully, there will be an hour or two left before the business opens when I can get to the boat and drain the interior water lines so if a freeze comes along they won't burst.

We don't have a tree up, stockings, or any lights this year. Christmas just snuck up on us when we weren't prepared.

Somebody let me know how the football games turned out tomorrow......thanks..

Regards,
Thomas

I'd volunteer to help you if you lived in California. I am alone this Christmas Eve. Tomorrow a friend will come over to share a Merry Christmas dinner with me. So count your blessings, one by one. Please have a wonderful Christmas day.

Thomas... I'll be thinking of you. I'm working right through the weekend as well.

In my case, being Jewish, I won't be missing any holiday. But I'm filling in so we can run with as small a staff as possible, so they can enjoy the holiday with their family and friends.

Even without "the trimmings" wish you and Mrs Thomas a VERY Merry Christmas!

Well, I am not working and I saw Christmas coming from a mile away. I did no shopping because I was short of funds. One thing I am not short of is SPIRIT. Tough times or not I plan to enjoy Christmas just because those I love are with me. To hear from my daughter would make the day extra special. I will count the blessengs for what I do have. I would go and work for you if I could. I hope you have a great holiday anyway.

Hi Thomas,
It sneaked up on me, too! We have a few lights up outside but that was done before Trevor started his training at the Bank this week. I have negligible things out inside the house; a towel here, a bell there, etc. I may have to get into my Christmas suitcase and get out the choir girl and little chipmunk my mother gave me several years ago. She has one just like it.
My Christmas celebration will be tonight when I sing in the choir at the Christmas Eve Service. Since we have no children in our home. tomorrow will be a "regular Saturday" and we can sleep in (although we're so trained to get up that we won't sleep in extremely late!). Perhaps, my stepdaughter will come down with her family in the afternoon-if the weather is OK. I bought some little treats at the Dollar Store-but no toys. (I had to stop myself). We'd sent a check up to Irene to buy for Everybody.
At some point we were going to get over to my mother's, 2 hours from here, but there's no time.I talked to her last night. We'll plan for Ephiphany-around January 8!
The Facility where I work is decorated from right after Thanksgiving to the week after New Year's, and we've had parties, special music, other entertainment, gift exchanges etc. So, my Christmas Season has been there!
I believe that Christmas has sneaked up on a lot of us.Thomas, I'm sorry that all those repairs need to be made THIS weekend,it makes things seem worse. I agree with the suggestion that you and Mrs.Thomas manage some nice quiet time together and be able to enjoy part of the weekend. Take Care. Lynne

Take heart dear Thomas. As someone else said, you have Mrs. Thomas. :-) And don't I remember you posting something about buying gifts for others who don't have so much this Christmas? I think you're just spoofing us. Where is Jason and BJ when we need them to put you in your room?

I really hope you have a blessed and merry Christmas Thomas.

Phyll

I work in the Entertainment industry as a supplier, so I work flat out until Jan. 02.... then POOF!!! All the work disappears until Valentine's Day.

This year, a cruise in January would be SWEET! However, to paraphrase a Christmas song: "I'll be on a Cruise Ship, If only in my dreams...."
