Default juct back from the Victory

here's the good news I won about $12000 in the casino, gave back most of it, we met some of the nicest funnist people ever. Halifax was nice, rainy. The casino in Halifax was great I won 350.00.
Drinks on the ship were great, the staff was wonderful.................. now the bad news
food was not so good, and LOTS of kids running lose!!!!!!!! but it was what I had expected, great price, nice folks, nice room, not so hot food, we'll live................... oh yeah..I would go again, on this ship, had a great time

WOW!! Now you have enough to pay for the next cruise. *thumbs up*

Sorry the food wasn't something you liked but it sounds like you had a great time anyway.

Default VICTORY IN HALIFAX

Glad you had a good trip. My kids and I are going on July 6. Where is the casino in Halifax? If it's raining, it would be a good option!!

Does the Victory have Texas Hold em yet?

Did you hear of anyone seeing any whales on the trip?

Thanks for the quick posting.

I will be cruising on the Victory in Sept, Canada/New England as well. I have been reading no so great reviews on the food by several people. I am hoping all of the other "good stuf" makes up for that.

The casino sounds like a great escape for me in Halifax, I can't wait.

I'll be crusing on the Victory 3/11/07. Do you remember the name of the band that was playing on the lido deck?

Thanks
Gary.

Default Kids Running Around

I guess one must expect lots of kids when school is out.
We try to avoid cruises timed around the time school will not be in session.
It is a shame that cruiselines don't release statistics about the percentage of kids on any given cruise - so those who are planning can determine if the cruise is good for them
If anyone knows of such statistics and where to get them - please let us know!

The Reggae band on the Lido deck is called "Impulse". The Casino in Halifax is at the far end of the Harbourwalk. Get off the ship, follow the harbourwalk about a half mile or so, you can't miss it.

As for Texas Hold 'em, there were a couple of Texas Hold 'em tournaments on the PokerPro table there with buyins ranging from $25 to $60. Check the Caper for which days - they started at 10am.
