Has anyone had scotch eggs on a cruise ship? They sound like they are a real taste treat which might be on the English breakfast menu of one of the English liners which I have not been on.

I've always wanted to try one, but not sure where to find them. I may just have to make them at home...
I am all about more variety of foods on cruises! Would love to see more indian things, like curry and tabouli! |

Here's one way to get Indian food on a cruise. Gordon Ramsey"s Hells Kitchen Food Trucks -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I saw a recent program in which Gordon Ramsey had food trucks which featured American, Indian and Mexican food. This is the kind of novelty food delivery system that would be fun on the ship and really appreciated at the cruise ship ports. The food truck could offer drinks and food on the the port's piers. Cruisemates wouldn't have to venture to local eateries. And since they would have a big name chef on them the food would be eclectic. |

I've never seen them offered on a cruise ship. Here at home (Tulsa) and when I lived in Dallas I could get them at any English Pub type restaurant. We have two restaurants here in Tulsa (Baker's St. Pub and Grill and Charlie Parkers) that serve them. I think Sherlocks and Trinity Grill in Dallas serve them too.

I've never seen them on a cruise ship. They would be ideal for that new area on the Breeze with featured 'tastes' or bites of various foods. I haven't seen any mention of that area from our CM friends who just sailed her....how about it?
I have made them a few times, but I usually get my Scotch Eggs at the Texas Scottish Festival & Highland Games.Texas Scottish Festival |

On the Norwegian Cruise Line the buffet had some interesting Indian food choices. I think it is because a substantial part of their cruise staff are from Goa India.
Now if they would serve Indonsian food on the ships with a lot of Indonesian cruise staff. I love Mei Goreng and Nasi Goreng. |

Well, I forgot about this thread, but hey!!, I did get a Scotch Egg on the Crown Princess. (lower left in photo below) It was in the pub and they only serve food there twice or so a cruise. Very limited seating.
I also had some at the Texas Scottish Festival until they sold out ![]() Last edited by Snoozeman; June 17th, 2013 at 05:14 PM. |

As a side note, I was wondering if you stood on a chair to get the picture of the pub lunch venue. The last time I took of a picture of an engaged couples hands at Astis in New York I had to stand on chair and shoot down. |
