Golden Princess - LA to Hawaii

Hi everyone...We're considering a cruise on Golden Princess from LA to Hawaii in January 2012. I was curious if anyone else has done this cruise the same time of year to tell us what the weather (temps, sun, etc) is like. I like warm weather but am hesitant about how warm the Pacific is this time of year.

A few years back we cruised in the beginning of March, to and from L.A.
It was cold in LA, even had snow in the mountains.
The 1st seaday out was still cold, the 2nd was already better.
The 3rd days and thereafter were nice and warm.
More or less the same on the way back, the last 2 seadays were again getting more chilly. The sea was calm all the time.

Almost any day in Hawaii will have a little or more rain.

Thanks Ine.. that was my experience out of LA in November as well.
I was going to Mexico, but the first two and last two days were cold.

I wanted to cruise to the islands with Mickey.. but it looks like Disney is moving from the west coast.
The up side will be I'll book the best room on Carnival for the same price as a basic balcony room on the Wonder.
