Rita Ippoliti became addicted to cruising, quite by accident, in March 2004. An attendee at a writer's conference onboard Holland America's ms Rotterdam, she only set foot on a cruise ship because that happened to be where the conference was being held. But it didn't take more than an hour for her to fall in love with the whole idea of sailing the high seas. Before the end of the week, Rita had booked two more Holland America cruises, a back-to-back on the Zuiderdam for August and a 30-day Hawaii/South Pacific Voyage on the Amsterdam the following January.
Rita has also cruised the Sun and the Island Princess, as well as Celebrity's Zenith.
A resident of Philadelphia all her life, today Rita prefers cruising to warm weather destinations, especially during those long cold winters in the Northeast. She loves cruising solo, and prefers longer voyages to short cruises because of all the days at sea that provide the best opportunities to meet fellow voyagers.
When she's not cruising, Rita is an IT professional by trade, as well as a freelance writer. Her writing has appeared on both OnlineLegalReview.com, where she was a senior editor, and on SkyXtreme.com, a website devoted to skydiving enthusiasts, of which Rita was one for over five years. Her first full-length book, "Falling Into Place" detailed her long and often humorous road to becoming a skydiver at the "tender" age of 42. Her book is available at Amazon.com as well as other retail outlets.
