Default Cost of Transportation in Barcelona to Renaissance

Please tell me the efficient best way to get from the Barcelona Airport to the Renaissance Ship. Cost? We are flying on our own.

We are also going on a escorted to afterwards in England. The ship disembarks in Dover. We have train passes. How far is the pier to train station? Cost?
By taxi? Are there porters at Dover and Victoria Station?

Just get a cab to the pier. It's around 30 minutes, but Spain is fairly inexpensive so a cab ride isn't as much as New York! Unless you're fluent in Spanish, be sure to have the name of the pier (it will come with your documents) to show the cab driver. If it isn't in your documents, ask your agent to get it from Renaissance.

You'll have to get Spanish pasetas (spelling right) before getting in a cab ... get $50 or so at an ATM in the airport. Avoid the currency exchange places, you'll be charged a huge fee. ATMs are in every airport in the world. You can also exchange currency aboard the ship without paying a fee.

Barcelona is world-renowned for pickpockets, and I know someone who had her wallet pinched in the airport. Keep your eyes open, watch your stuff like a hawk. If you have a camera, it's best not to carry it in a traditional camera case in this city. A friend who is a professional photographer carries her equipment in a ratty bag. The two other cities to be careful: Naples and Rome.

As I recall, it's only about 10-15 minute cab ride from the pier to the train terminal.
There are cabs everywhere. Remember to get English currency before you disembark so you can pay the cab.

Hope this helps!

Sometimes you're lucky to find Spanish speakeers in Barcelona since the native language there is Catalan.
