Ok, I have a different question from the previous topless sunbathing question. My husband and I are going, sans child, at the end of June. Would he be able to accompany me if I want to sunbathe topless?
Yes! Your husband may go, with or without you, to the topless deck. It's an adult only deck, no matter what sex they are. My husband & I, along with our traveling companions, spent time up there by the smokestack. It's peaceful. There are no children running around! You may be up there with or without your top. The showgirls seem to be up there so they have no tan lines. Have fun!!!
There are 2 staircases to that deck (at least on the Ecstasy) with signs posted.
Something like adults only, tops optional. It's been a few years. My son & nephew found it on our first cruise in '91. They were exploring the ship & they didn't see the sign. Dad & grandpa had to check it out when they heard there were girls up there with no tops on. We then told them they were no longer allowed up there. ( They really didn't see the sign, but we then pointed it out to them.) I don't know if they do it differently now.
My wife and I have sailed on the Elation (Mexican Riveria) and on the smokeless Paradise (Western Caribbean) and both times have enjoyed the deck where topless sunbathing is optional. There are always lounge chairs available, it's quiet (no kids) and mostly couples. The downside is that there are many "looky-lous" cruising in the area and make it obvious that they are only there for a thrill. Why not make it a "clothing optional" area so the females have something to look at too? I took my bottoms off on both cruises and laid on my stomach and no one bothered me. Hope you enjoy your cruise and make sure you wear strong sun screen! PS- We are booked for our next cruise in October 20 on the new Spirit. Has anyone returned from a Spirit cruise yet?
