Does anyone know if the prices drop closer to the cruise date if they have available rooms. and where are the discounts ? the cruise i was looking at has gone up. i like to plan ahead but if i wait a few months ( plan to go in December ) could the price drop ?
We just returned from our cruise last Sunday. We booked our cruise 3 or 4 months early and got a great deal. Actually, it was the best time as prices started to go up after that. I would recommend you go to Carnival.com and be put on their email list. They will email you with special offers and you may get a good deal like we did. Have fun!

Once final payments are made for a given sailing, usually 75-90 days before, people who were going to cancel already have. So, the cruise line looks at how many cabins are still unbooked. Then, they adjust prices accordingly. But, that is only if they are underbooked and they go back up fast. If you find what you want at a price you like, book it. Waiting for deals is a form of pre-cruise gambling!

We book 9 to 12 months in advance...
