Default Temp adjustments on the ships?

Is it just some ships that dont have any heat? I know this is a strange question but last Jan we sailed out on Triumph (from New Orleans) and when we boarded of course the temps were cool but as usual we thought the next am when we got up and made it out to Lido deck it would be warm...well we were wrong. Our cabin stayed very cold entire cruise. Even the common areas were too cold. When I called and asked they just told me to adjust the air vent..there really wasnt any heat. Most of the cruise mostly all you saw was people with big coats or minimum a jacket on and long pants. If we were in the cabin to relax..we were under the covers trying to stay warm. They said there was some weird weather fronts going on. We are leaving Jan 10 on Elation and wondered if I should pack with some warmer clothes as well as the usual fare in case we dont have great weather this time.

I would take some warm clothes, just in case. I too had one cruise where we froze, just hard to know what the temps will be like these days.

Fantasy class ships don't have a "thermostat" on the wall. You turn a know on the vent in the ceiling which adjusts how much air blows into the room.

Triumph is similar, it has a little metal bar you move to open or close the vent. I was on that very cold Triumph Dec 09, but with the vent closed it didnt seem that bad.

Its also located on the ceiling on Triumph. I think just like Fantasy class ships, no heat comes out, you just stop the air flow. move the lever to red or blue. .. no heat. I also have not had heat on Fantasy class either though, just stop the air flow.

If you turn it all the way to the one side .. no air flow, no a/c is on. .. just do that, it shuts it off completely.

I wonder if those magnetic vent covers would work on these? If you can't keep the cool off you can block it.

You can pretty much close it off completely, but there is no heat option. We tend to open it up wide - better than a sound machine for white noise.

Yep, I had to check my pictures, but similar. We left that one wide open, too.
