No left-overs for me till Mon. We went to my sister-in-law's yesterday, so--no turkey here. Our kids/grands are coming here Sun. for our own turkey party. Hubby is going out-of -town Mon-Fri and wants me to freeze him some turkey to have when he gets home.
Tonight we had tuna croquettes, baked potatoes and green beans. Comfort food from my childhood, but not the turkey I really craved.
Last year it was our turn to host my in-laws on Tgiving and my kids wanted to have our own party on Sun. besides, so we had turkey coming out of our ears, so to speak.
Today I shopped from 7-11 and came home with a van full of stuff, wishing I could have had a turkey sandwich for lunch.

We went out to a fantastic Thanksgiving buffet dinner at Little America in Flagstaff, so no leftovers here.

Our tradition is to have the leftovers Friday night. After all the cooking for Thanksgiving, it gives me a break in the kitchen. Plus we all like the meal, and look forward to having it twice.

Tomorrow we're having company for lunch, and turkey sandwiches are on the menu. Our preference is to have them on caraway rye bread with thousand island dressing.

Yippee! We cheated tonight and had some of the turkey that's on the menu for tomorrow. We like to cook the turkey a day ahead of time to save work on the day of the party. The house smelled so good that we decided to have turkey and left-over mashed potatoes (from another dish that I made yesterday) and gravy. I had some round zucchinis to eat up, so I sauteed them with onions for our veg. I also had a small scoop of the extra cranberry jello mold that we didn't use Thursday. It was so good. And tomorrow after church we will just have to have turkey sandwiches for lunch. There will still be plenty for the company.

Stripped down the turkey carcass tonight.....lots of meat left for sandwiches, and one big batch of tetrazini that I just made (will be put in the freezer).
