Default Paul Newman has passed

Actor Paul Newman has passed away after his fight with cancer.
Another beautiful and wonderful actor will be missed.
I met him when he would race in Sebring, Fl.

What a shock, and what a fine actor and husband he was!
Just yesterday somebody sent me this e-mail about Paul Newman.
I thought it was a great tribute to a great man.

Only women of a certain era will fully appreciate this.... true story.

A Michigan woman and her family were vacationing in a small New England town where

Paul Newman and his family often visited.

One Sunday morning, the woman got up early to take a long walk. After a brisk five-mile hike,

she decided to treat herself to a double-dip chocolate ice cream cone.

She hopped in the car, drove to the center of the village and went straight

to the combination bakery/ice cream parlor.

There was only one other patron in the store:
Paul Newman, sitting at the counter having a doughnut and coffee.

The woman's heart skipped abeat as her eyes made contact with those famous baby-blue eyes.

The actor nodded graciously and the star struck woman smiled demurely.

Pull yourself together! She chides herself. You're a happily married woman with three children,

you're forty-five years old, not a teenager!

The clerk filled her order and she took the double-dip chocolate ice cream cone in one hand and her

change in the other. Then she went out the door, avoiding even a glance in Paul Newman's direction.

When she reached her car, she realized that she had a handful of change but her other hand was empty.
Where's my ice cream cone? Did I leave it in the store? Back into the shop she went, expecting to see the

cone still in the clerk's hand or in a holder on the counter or something! No icecream cone was in sight..

With that, she happened to look over at Paul Newman.
His face broke into his familiar, warm, friendly grin and he said to the woman,

'You put it in your purse.'

Not only was Paul Newman a great actor, but a great humanitarian. He will be sorely missed!

I was just watching on CNN and what an amazing man he really was. His contributions to not just America but to the various world humanitarian efforts will be missed for sure. There was a representative from his company talking about how he left them with lots of guidance for how to continue his "mission" and how the brand will survive because it is not about him but about the difference that each of us make.
What earth has lost, Heaven has certainly gained.

One great humanitarian. I read somewheres he had donated some 250 million $ to charity.

Oh how we will miss those beautiful blue eyes. Even though he was older than my dad I still thought of him as being a young man. I didn't realize he was 83 yrs. old. The message RD sent sounds like something I would have done in the same situation. God granted him peace and he is now in no more pain. He will be missed my many.

Besides those beautiful blue eyes, I admire the fact that he was one of the few Hollywood Stars to maintain a strong marriage to his wife. We need more positive roll models like him.

May he rest in peace.

He will surely be missed all over the world. He was one of the truly "great" ones that gave back so much, I will miss him for sure.

So true. The way those folks marry and divorce in hollywood it's refreshing to see that Paul and Joann took their marriage vows seriously. The world is a better place for him having been in it and a sadder place for him having left it.
