want to get a position of purser

Hi everybody. I’m willing to apply for a position of purser.

I must say that I’ve already had experience of working on a cruise ship (November 2003 – June 2004) with Carnival Cruise Lines. But because I didn’t see any opportunity of changing department and professional growth I had to quit. I applied through an agency in the Ukraine, where I live, and at the time only position of Hotel Steward was available. So I decided to go for it, especially because I was told that changing department is possible and in fact not so difficult. In reality it turned out practically impossible – especially in my department.

I have a good command of English, speak German and Russian. And I feel that the position of purser is really what I'm fit for. I'm sure -wher's the will ther's the way. If someone has encountered this problem (change dept.) or simply knows how to get a position of purser - please reply at this forum or mail me. I'd really appreciate it. Bye -bye.

Do basically just what you did before. Contact the Cruiselines and put in your resume and wait. They all have websites with info on where to send it and/or who to contact.

Sarah come on...you are making it sound like we work for the devil

Being a Purser is great...as long you can cope with things.

Keeping a float is easy, just take your time, this is my 4th contract as a Purser. I am now a 3rd and I have seen peoples floats be down and they have NEVER been accused of stealing it. That is a lie!!

Good look becoming a Purser...maybe I will see you soon!!

I was never on Triumph. I have been on Paradise , Ecstasy, Fascination and now Pride,
I am home on a work break right now...i go back in the morning.

I have never met your boyfriend, heard about him though.
