Default When someone discourages you from cruising

An

irate banker

demanded that

Alexander Graham Bell

remove "that toy"

from his office.

That toy was

the telephone.

A Hollywood producer

scrawled a curt

rejection note

011 a manuscript

that became "Gone with the Wind."

Henry Ford's

largest

original investor

sold all

his stock

in 1906.

Roebuck sold oui

to Sears

for $25,000

in 1895.'

Today, Sears

may sell

$25,000 worth

of goods

in 16 seconds.

The next time

somebody

offers you

an idea about a cruise

that leaves

you cold,

put it on

the back burner.

It might

warm up.

Just can't imagine why, anyone would discourage someone from cruising?? May-be they went on one that didn't meet their needs?

I went on one that did not meet my needs.

The voyage was from San Francisco to Cam Ranh Bay. After many years have gone by, I still enjoy cruising. I just prefer a different cruiseline.

There is virtually nothing anybody can say to discourage me from cruising. Have been since I was young, and will continue, but if someone is turned off by cruising because of what they 'herd' I can steer them in the right way.

When ever I see some kind of mishap in the news where the incident happened on a cruise ship, the negative Neds and Nancys come out in full force about why cruise ships are the scourge of the Earth and should not be allowed to operate anywhere! I will always cruise! After the Triumph had its very public battle, I secured a cruise on her immediately. Even though we were stopped dead and adrift on her on that next cruise, I still bought more on her.

Due to medical problems I cannot be on an airplane .I have not been on a train in five years .Cruising is the only form of vacation I can do and I will continue to do so until I am unable to do that .

I cannot be on a plane due to the abusive and onerous searches conducted by the security agents. I have never been on an extended train ride. Longest train ride was two hours. Cruising is the life for me!

I really want to find out where all these abusive and onerous searches are conducted.

I've traveled almost 400,000 miles since 9/11 and for the last eight years I've had to have pat downs because of having a pacemaker and metal in the knee.

I have NEVER had a rude, abusive or rough search by a TSA agent. Every one of them has been professional and polite. The only time I felt "mistreated" was at the Warclaw, Poland airport where the security people definitely were rude, rough and surly. That was Poland and not TSA. Heck, almost everyone in Poland is rude, rough and surly.

Since the implementation of the full body, low yield x-ray, scanners I no longer need the pat down unless the checkpoint is not equipped with one. I just go right through. TSA Pre-Check and GOES also make traveling easier but I've only done this over the last two or three years and many Pre-Check stations do not have full body scanners so I still need to go through the pat down.

I'd prefer the old days but the times have changed and until the rules change I will abide and not let the fact I may be frisked stop me from enjoying cruising and other travel.

Take care,
Mike

Mike, I am in total agreement with your statement.
