Default Wrist wraps for motion sickness?

Have you used those accupressure bandages for the wrists? Do they work?

I have Bonine and plan on taking that, as well as raw ginger. I get horribly sea sick on a canoe, even.

Jane, I have found them quite effective. I am not particularly prone to motion sickness, but have had experienced it a bit on cruises when we were in open rough water. I am really sensitive to medication so the non-medicated remedy is a good choice for me.

I get motion sickness pretty bad and on our last cruise I tried those stupid bracelets....didn't work one bit on me. I used Bonine on my last cruise and gave the bracelets to my daughter to play with. We're going on the Caribbean Princess this coming September and already have my box of Bonine ready. Maybe they work for some but be sure and have a backup plan. :-)

Bonine worked great for me & hubby. Hit some amazing rough seas in Jan 04. Not many people in the dining room. Very few hearty soles. Those who used the wrist bands did find relief but they found that they had to have them on 24/7 even in the shower!!! If you take them off, it may set you back. Good luck.

I use the Bonine as does my teenage daughter. Works great although it can make you a wee bit sleepy. I got so sick on my first cruise (smaller ship), that I was the 1st passenger taken off the ship upon returning at the end of the week and was taken off in a wheelchair! I can hardly believe I actually tried a second time...but I've been on 7 cruises in the last 10 years and love it. Bonine every time for us!

Don't use the neck patch...my experience was not a good one and I tried it on 2 cruises. Too many bad side effects.

Motion sickness is definately NOT in the mind - it's an imbalance of the inner ear - Bonine and drugs like it correct that imbalance - but I think they do it by tranquilizing. I wore the patch and had no side affects from red eyes. I get really motion sick if I even look down in the car - but with the patch I could actually read. It is not for everyone but it really worked for me - and we got some pretty heavy seas. TTFN Jennifer

I tried the bracelets and they didn't work for me at all. I found the Bonine worked the best with the least side effects.
